Being undefeated still has its perks for Oregon football. The Ducks still hold the top spot in the latest 2024 College Football Playoff rankings, with that October win over Ohio State still looming large on how the playoff committee views Oregon.

The fourth edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings were released Tuesday night with undefeated Oregon maintaining its spot at No. 1 as has been the case in every set of rankings during this initial year of the expanded 12-team field.

The Oregon football team was ranked No. 1 in the fourth edition of the College Football Playoff rankings, as decided by the selection committee. As a top-4 team, if the Ducks managed to hold on to that ranking by December, they would receive a first-round bye and start playoff play in the quarterfinals.

While Oregon has already secured a spot in the Big Ten Championship game, set for Saturday, December 7th at LucasOil Stadium in Indianapolis, they’re still waiting to find out if they’ll face No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Penn State, or No. 10 Indiana.
