Gov. Phil Murphy called on Rutgers to investigate the gymnastics program this summer, calling allegations “really ugly and very disturbing.”

Rutgers has placed women’s gymnastics coach Umme Salim-Beasley on paid administrative leave after an investigation into the program revealed she “presided over a divided and dysfunctional organization.

The four-month $750,000 investigation was conducted by Lowenstein Sandler LLP, which interviewed 62 witnesses, some of whom sat for more than one interview.
