The Chicago Blackhawks are down to their final five games of the season and only one of them will be played at the United Center over the next eight days.

There were some eyebrows raised when the Chicago Blackhawks selected defenseman Sam Rinzel 25th in the 2022 NHL Draft. Rinzel wasn’t an unknown, but the Blackhawks jumped further ahead to take him than most teams would have.

Sam Rinzel and Oliver Moore might have been part of a losing effort in their debuts for the Chicago Blackhawks against the Utah Hockey Club, but they impressed, especially Rinzel.

The Blackhawks have added two of their top prospects, agreeing to entry-level contracts with forward Oliver Moore and defenseman Sam Rinzel.

“There (were) a lot of just 50-50 shifts going on, but for us, as a group, that’s also a positive: learning how to play those games,” Hawks interim coach Anders Sörensen said. “We’ve had a tendency to open things up sometimes. So that was good.” The win snapped a five-game skid.
