A person has died after he was swept out to sea in Sonoma County on Sunday morning amidst a high surf warning, authorities said.

A man who died after being swept away by the waters along the Sonoma County coastline was from Sacramento, officials said.

Authorities have released the name of a Sacramento man who died Sunday after a wave swept him into the ocean while standing on rocks along the coast in Salt Point State Park in Sonoma County. Shanglong Tang, 43, died despite attempts to revive him after he was pulled from the water, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities have identified the man who died over the weekend after a wave swept him into the ocean at Salt Point State Park on the Sonoma County coast. Shanglong Tang, 43, of Sacramento, was standing on the rocks in Gerstle Cove with another man Sunday morning when he was pulled into the water.
