South Carolina baseball started it’s home SEC series against Florida off with a 9-5 loss on Friday night. The game went into the early hours of Saturday morning after a weather delay halted the game early. Although South Carolina’s pitching staff was able to strikeout Florida batters 10 times, the Gators used a big fifth inning to get the win.

The Gamecocks are in the Super Regionals for the fifth consecutive season after grinding out a hard-fought win over the Seminoles at the Carolina Tennis Center.

South Carolina and Florida baseball each made the decision Saturday to postpone Game 2 of their weekend series.
