Tropical Storm Erin is continuing to move west and is forecast to become a hurricane later this week, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Forecasters say Hurricane Erin has exploded into a Category 5 storm in the Atlantic Ocean just north of the Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center says the storm is north of the island of Anguilla with winds of 160 mph.
Tropical Storm Erin has become a hurricane as of 11 a.m., Friday, August 15. The storm is forecast to become a major hurricane (Category 3 or 4) with peak wind speeds of around 130 mph over the weekend,
