A man has filed a $20 million federal civil rights lawsuit against police officers in Pickens County, Alabama, saying he was repeatedly and wrongly shocked with a Taser.

Two bills filed by Democrats are likely to face opposition, but sponsors say they could help end Taser abuses like those uncovered by Mississippi Today and The New York Times.
