The Rams are looking further down the field ahead of their season closer against Seattle and will sit several key players.

Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, recently shared that she has been battling a severe case of the flu since the Rams’ season-ending loss against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Kelly revealed she “passed out” due to illness in her suite during the game and said she thinks she and two of her daughters are sick.

With Stafford being inactive, the Rams will turn to Jimmy Garoppolo as their starting quarterback and Stetson Bennett as the backup. This will be Garoppolo’s first opportunity to play since 2023 and his first snaps as a member of the Rams.

The Rams have clinched the NFC West so Jimmy Garoppolo will start against the Seahawks instead of Matthew Stafford.

Matthew Stafford currently sits with a 10-13 record against his former division rival the Minnesota Vikings. Back when Stafford was in the NFC North, he faced the Vikings at least twice a year, and since joining the Los Angeles Rams he’s played Minnesota exactly twice.
