Eurovision winner ineligible to host if involved in ‘armed conflict’ - The European Broadcasting Union has announced the changes following an annual review of the song contest.

Israel, which hosted the contest in 2019, will no longer be allowed to do so – but can still compete, protesters say.

Organisers say countries engaged in armed conflict will be automatically disqualified from hosting.

The change comes after several European countries boycotted this year’s competition over the inclusion of Israel.
