Napheesa Collier scored 19 points and the U.S. routed Hungary 108-56 to advance to the semifinals of the women's FIBA World Cup on Thursday. The U.S. will play Spain on Saturday in the medal round. France will face host Germany in the other semifinal matchup.
Two of the top favorites were back in action Sunday in the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Australia was matched up against Türkiye in the first of four games, with the United States and Italy bringing the day to a close.
Spain has played the U.S. five times at the World Cup, including the 2010 semifinals and the 2014 final, and FIBA puts the average margin at 24 points. Alba Torrens played in that 2014 final and is on this roster. At a qualifier in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in March, the U.S. won 84-70.
