One of our favorite prospects from the 2024 NFL draft was former Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean. We loved his ability to excel at any spot in the secondary and his ridiculous athleticism. We also loved his willingness to stick his nose in there and defend the run.

With the Ravens facing third and 11 in the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson checked down to Henry in the flat, and DeJean unleashed an absolutely textbook tackle. It was so perfect that he lifted Henry from the ground and drove through the tackle. For reference, DeJean is listed at just shy of 200 pounds.

In the NFL’s pass-first era, the running backs are making noise at an old-school position. You could see his sarcasm begging for permission to bite. As Justice Hill listened to a question about the NFL’s running back revival, he pursed his lips and figured out how to respond the nicest way he could.
