Nevada offensive coordinator Matt Lubick is rejoining the Kansas football staff as co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach, the Jayhawks announced Tuesday. The news comes just a few days after the promotion of Jim Zebrowski to offensive coordinator. The news was first reported by The Athletic and confirmed by the Jayhawks Tuesday afternoon.

Jeff Grimes will become the offensive coordinator at his fourth school in eight seasons, leaving Kansas after one season to take the same job at Wisconsin, Badgers coach Luke Fickell announced. Grimes directed one of the top rushing offenses in the Big 12 this season with the Jayhawks.

Matt Lubick, son of legendary CSU coach Sonny, spent last season at Nevada, where he coached against the Rams.

Zebrowski has served on Leipold’s staff for the past seven seasons, while their connection dates back to Zebrowski joining Leipold as an assistant coach at UW-Whitewater in 2007. Zebrowski came to Kansas in 2021, initially as the quarterbacks coach, before being promoted to Co-Offensive Coordinator in 2023 and Offensive Coordinator in 2024.

Wisconsin has reportedly agreed to a deal with Kansas’ Jeff Grimes to be the program’s new offensive coordinator.

Kansas Jayhawks co-offensive coordinator Jim Zebrowksi will assume that title solo and full-time in 2025, KU head football coach Lance Leipold announced on Saturday.

The Wisconsin Badgers have officially hired former Kansas offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes to the same position.

First, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Friday that Wisconsin was ‘targeting’ Grimes, with talks ‘expected to intensify in the near future.’ Now, Kansas has officially promoted quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski to its offensive coordinator position, further signaling Grimes’ move to the Badgers.

Kansas football announced Saturday that Jim Zebrowski will take the reins of the offense after offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes was hired by Wisconsin.
