Several rounds of rain are in the Friday forecast across North Texas, with tornado chances increasing later in the day.
Waves of scattered storms will sweep across North Texas from Wednesday through Friday, bringing the potential for large hail and damaging winds.
The NWS Fort Worth TX issued a severe thunderstorm watch at 2:16 a.m. on Friday in effect until 10 a.m. The watch is for Wise, Cooke, Fannin, Grayson, Jack, Montague and Young counties.
The potential for severe storms is in the forecast in North Texas and there are already flight delays and cancellations at North Texas airports.
This unsettled weather pattern will continue into Saturday. Periods of showers and storms. Some storms could be severe Friday, especially in East Texas.
Further dangerous weather including tornadoes, flooding and freezing rain will hit the United States and Canada over the next few days.
The outdoor system tests, usually scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month, can be moved at the discretion of local officials.
Multiple rounds of severe weather are expected in North Texas this week. The first round of storms will approach the D-FW region on Tuesday, April 1, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth.
