Refining the curves of my new violin corner blocks. The sides or “ribs” of the violin are glued to blocks of shaped wood. These are temporarily attached to a form that is removed before the front and back are attached. Theses internal blocks hold the sides with glue. A smooth gluing surface reduces the risk of problems in the future. I use a disc of acrylic to match the radius of the curve.
