Vincent Price was among the starry cast in the acclaimed biographical drama The Song of Bernadette which dramatised the story of Bernadette Soubirous (played by Jennifer Jones), who experienced visions of the Virgin Mary from February to July 1858. Following its premiere on Christmas Day in 1943, it had its New York opening on 26 January 1944, and went on to score Jennifer Jones an Oscar and gave Vincent one of the most poignant scenes in the film.
